Special Slot Conduct Rules

Higher Standard Conduct Rules

Due to the nature of some characters in the game world, specifically those who occupy a slot, they have a greater need placed upon them to act both IC and OOCly to a higher standard.

These slots shouldn't be played with selfish intent - If your goal is to be powerful for the sake of winning every fight, to inflict heavy cons, to be unstoppable/untouchable, then the slot is not for you.

They are empowered because they are are designed as a narrative tool - they need to be treated with more care and scrutiny in order to ensure that the experience is enjoyable for all who interact.

The goal of these slots is to spread conflict around the server in a way that creates and furthers stories and gives people things to do - not in a way that leaves people wishing they had never interacted.

As such, players in these slots who are caught engaging in behaviour that is considered corrosive to the system we have established or failing to adhere to higher standards are at a greater risk of their slot being pulled for not maintaining a higher standard.

It is worth remembering these slots are entrusted to players and there is no requirement on the Creationists or Reports to ensure these slots are filled.

Behaviour considered corrosive to the system

  • Gamifying the system in such a way it becomes exploitative.

  • Exploiting ambiguity in such a way as to avoid undesirable but reasonable outcomes due to the character's actions.

  • Breaking the rules we already have in place.

  • Adopting the Play to Win mentality (We can identify the pattern of behaviour).

Behaviour considered failure to uphold higher standard

  • Acting like a child

  • Being a dick in OOC chatter or tickets (Emotions can flare up. Take a step back for a moment!)

  • Spreading Bad Faith (Try to trust others, or simply chill out)

  • Breaking rules we already have in place

  • Not giving Oakbug smooches

For slots in PVP: if you intend to reveal yourself and/or use one of your more powerful abilities, you must emote it during the fight and describe what the ability does.
Once per unique ability. For example: Crush, destruction, puppeteer, second wind and so on.

Gamifying & Play to Win

Gamifying the system
This means to no longer see that you are Role-Playing a character, rather you view the system as a 'game' and any irregularities, bugs or mistakes are there to be abused to enable your character to succeed.

The limitations of RR will lead to mistakes or problems from time to time- but these mistakes or problems should be reported, not exploited to circumvent proper RP etiquette.

Gamifying examples are:

  • Abusing bugs or oversights in the RR to have an advantage that is unique to the slot

  • Meta-Chasing stat increases/buffs

Adopting a Play to Win mentality:

This is most often where the excuse, 'It's what my character would do!', comes into play. If you're character is designed to be play to win, leave the slot right now.

Play to Win examples are:

  • Depriving other players of as much as you can every-time you can (To enrich yourself or to punish the other player)

  • Spamming your highest damage abilities across multiple fights without offering any variation

  • Base camping

Nobility

The vying for peace, power and prosperity it is the aim of many, and no sooner will these be bestowed upon the people than when their noble overlords deem it so. Nobles, or faction leaders, are agents of their respective allegiance with the intention to push the interests of their liege lords.

Despite the connotations of nobility through blood or merit, any origin can house a 'noble', though their specific title or honourific can drastically differ from though typical to Atlan.

Nobles are forces for change in the Nahas. With that it is and what it will become, they play a key role in whatever events may unfold and what political games are played within the Frontier.

Noble slots gain access to:

- The Nobility Perk Tree (Replaces Industrious)

- The Writ System (Used for unique faction weapons)

- The Praise and Defame abilities

- Greater access to the world at large via NPCs

Play As...

When playing as a Noble, it is your cause and purpose to push the interests of your country and the faction they are apart of. Working against the interests of those power structures can lead to a disownment which casts the character out of the noble cadre of the faction.

  • Consider the reputation chart of your country or people, act accordingly as you are beholden to the interests of the powers above. Your character does not need to agree, or enjoy the political landscape of their faction.

  • Pursue the Great Game against other nobles, try to out-maneuver them, gain the advantage and establish your domain in bold declaration of your faction.

  • Understand that you are inherently meant to work against other powers in Nahas, to antagonise and drive conflict in the myriad of ways it is possible.

Banen’Rhûn

BanenRangers.png

Hailing from the sprawling mountain ranges of Rhûn, the Banen’Rhûn is one of the most distinctive humanoid races. Despite their relatively recent emergence in the far northern reaches of Awenasa, they have swiftly garnered widespread attention, albeit for largely negative reasons, owing to their hostile disposition towards neighbouring House Galasar and Komanali societies. - A stance which they have not yet adopted against Humanity.

Despite having such a poor reputation from their aggressive actions towards House Galasaar and the Komanali, the Banen’Rhûn are culturally sophisticated enough to contend with larger societies. They boast a well-established governance system, a thriving art scene, and a rich tradition of philosophical thought.

Kaza'daukar

The Kaza’daukar, colloquially known as Kazads and by some as the endearing nickname Kazas, is an arm of retinue in the service of Sasashahr’s Emperor, Shahanshah Cyrus, to investigate the malignant use of Aether and to bring an end to the threat of demons through their eradication. The Kaza’daukar often work individually during their reconnaissance stage or as a pair depending on the need of the investigation at hand. Sometimes groups will be deployed if nature warrants it.

When the Kaza’daukar has confirmed a threat, they are authorised by the Enlightened Empire to take all necessary steps to eliminate the target or targets. This often results in more Kaza’daukar being dispatched to the area, and the hiring of local forces to complete the task at hand. - Through their mandate, they are instructed to keep their activities secret and to cause as little instability as possible which has strained their ability to act swiftly to rising situations.

How To Play

The Kaza'daukar are primarily investigators of the Aetheric, Demonic and godly. They work to prevent greater catastrophe through keeping these powers in check and eliminating those that they believe have become too dangerous to leave alone.

  • Adhere to your specific Stewardship and help your fellow Kaza'daukars in their efforts.

  • Eliminate the corrupted Aetheric or Demon, failing that keep them contained and in check. Use local forces and mercenaries to protect the world from them.

  • Rarely, if ever, share your knowledge with anyone. Avoid creating mass-hysteria and killing frenzies. The spread of such information can get people killed. (Can lead to greater cons)

  • Establish a network of informants and agents to help you in your endeavours.

  • Struggle against the poltical reality of Sasanshahr and their alliance with the Empire of Dumanon.

Some are too dangerous to let live. Others are not yet dangerous enough.

HUNTERS.png

The Custodes

The Custodes are the premier mercenaries fighting in the New World. Heavily armed and armoured, their formations and tactics emphasise exposing little while maximising damage inflicted. Their staying power is infamous, and even Humanity has eventually sought to hire them. - In some instances, they have accepted the aimless into their ranks, even wayward humans, to replenish their manpower. Those inducted are required to undergo vigorous training and a religious re-alignment.
